The Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature winners for 2011 received their medals (for first Prize winners only), certificates (for all winners) and cash prizes during awarding ceremonies held on September 1, 2011, at the Peninsula Hotel Manila in Makati City. Guest of honor and speaker was National Artist for Literature Francisco Sionil Jose, who was conferred the Gawad Dangal ng Lahi by awards director, Sylvia Palanca - Quirino.
